I was always crazy about old Indian aged doors that we find in most of our villages. But I dint really want to spend thousands of dollars just to own one such unique piece. So why not try your own, ya this time I tried to make a modernized version of an antique aged door that you can hang in your own living room.
All you need for this project is:
- Plywood sheet – 1/2in
- Picture frame chair moulding
- Wood glue
- some screws
- door knobs
- Acrylic paints
16X1X6 – stain grade wood sheet.
2X1X70 inches – 2 peices of pine wood
3X1X13 – 5 peices of pine wood
The blue highlighted outer frame is the stain grade wood sheet. first fix in the red frames that are two large side pieces of 2X1X70 with some wood glue and screws.
Then fix in the green pieces that are 3X1X13’s using the same process.
Once you have the frame setup, we put in the mirror carved wall art in two sections (thats what we decided as per our design, you can add your own creativity).
We just put picture frame chair moulding to cover the gaps between the frame and the wall art.
Now us your own creativity to deck it up. I used some decoupage and hand painted elements to make it look really traditional and antique.
