This year’s Diwali party theme has been inspired by a jharokha wall niche decor idea that I have seen on insta. I have created a Moroccan style dinner setting a couple of years ago and have reused those decor in this theme. Adding my Moroccan dining post for your reference.
For this theme we have done 4 sections – Haveli with curtain lights wall decor, jharojha wall, entryway table decor and dining table decor. I will go through each of these sections in detail.
You can checkout this quick video on the whole process:
Haveli curtain lights wall decor:
Step1: Flower strings and curtain lights
We have added curtain lights for three walls surrounding the dining space. We then added artificial carnations on a string and hung them using command strips.
Step2: Haveli and lantern hangings
We have now added these lanterns that I got from worldmarket with a string of thread in alternate lines. We cut the cellophane foil sheets in the shape of a jharokha and added a glitter sheet frame. we did not use any stencil, we just made a template and cut all other ones using exacto knife using that template.
Jharokha Wall decor
Step1: Jharokha box:
For this wall we have used cake boxes and flipped on the other side and jut the box base in the shape of the jharokha opening.
Step2: Backing and block print:
Now add the yellow cardstock to the inside of the box and printed block print on the yellow sheet.
Step3: Stick them to the walls using command strips.
Entryway Decor:
My friend has beautiful marble entryway table and dining table custom fabricated from a local stone fabricator and I wanted to elevate the marble look at the place. I wanted to add a color theme that elevates the beautiful marble, so have chosen white and yellow with marigolds and jasmine strings. have hung the marigolds and jasmine on the walls and add some candle decors and a huge antique vase that I made with dirt effect. you can checkout my dirt vase post here. you can find all the marigold garlands, jasmine garlands and lotus hangings in my amazon storefront –

The jasmine bunch that I have used in the vase were from Pier One imports, but they are out of stock right now. I have linked similar flowers that I found from amazon and the other products that I have used in the entryway decor.
Dining table decor:
For the dining table decor I have used a large lotus urli bowl in the center and have placed small urli’s on the side with some candle holders. I have used colorful moroccan tea glasses as candle holders.
I have got my lotus urli bowl from ross store a couple of years back. I have linked those products here from amazon.in and from etsy for your reference. The table runner that I have used is from my store
And the dining table decor looked like this….
I am also linking up the furniture pieces and the light fixtures for you guys!!
