This is the first time we have tried something different in resin panels. I have been eyeing these geode resin panels and wanted to try myself since a very long time. We were designing a space for a client and have added a beautiful temple wall mural to showcase the indian elements in the space. We wanted to add resin panels on either sides of the wallpaper and decided to do geode style for it to represent the river streams by the side of the Indian temples . You can see my design project here.
The materials used in this project are:
- Resin
- Crystals
- Epoxy pigment
- Acrylic colors/Wall colors – Black
- Plywood
Process:
- Step1: Cut the plywood sheet to the desired size
- Step2: Color the plywood using wall color
- Step3: Pour the base coat resin mixed with black acrylic color and remove the bubbles using heat gun until its all clear.
- Step4: Let it dry for overnight
- Step5: Now add the crystals and pour very little epoxy over the crystals to make them stick to the panel
- Step6: Let it dry overnight
- Step7: Now add gold acrylic color to the sides of the crystals
- Step8: Add gold resin and black resin on the sides and blend then with heat gun
- Step9: Let it dry overnight
- Step10: Pour a clear top coat to seal everything and let it dry overnight again.
This video gives an overview of the process….will soon be posting detail video.
