Regal pearl ammavaru crown

Pearls are the epitome of timeless charm, effortlessly transcending eras and embodying classic sophistication in the realm of fashion. While I adore the classic traditional pearl styles, I’m equally enthralled by the modern interpretations and the numerous ways they’re being incorporated. Case in point: Deepika’s Cannes cape and Alia’s pearl dress at the Met, the tassles and the hundred different variations.

Whether it’s a single pearl strand synonymous with Audrey or the royal panchladas of the Nizams, they’re equally stunning. Never falling out of fashion, they even have a dedicated Pinterest board for time eternity.

Drooling over the elegance of pearls, it was only natural I made a crown using them. I have created several variations of crown and used pearls as well. Something about the royal blue and pearls together made this regal. If you love it as much as I do, scroll on for how you can do it yourself.

Instructions

  • Start by placing the plastic vase in the center and stuffing the padding into the opening. Secure it with a rubber band.
  • Take the plain color fabric and neatly tuck it around the vase, securing it with another rubber band.
  • Use hot glue to stick the ends of the fabric together, neatly wrapping the base with the fabric.
  • Once the base is ready, attach the pearl string diagonally using hot glue. Create lines all around the circle.
  • Craft overlapping diagonal lines in the opposite direction to form a diamond-shaped pattern. Don’t worry about perfection; focus on neatness for the front and leave the back less tidy.
  • Attach the opposite color border fabric to the stem of the plastic vase, securing it with hot glue. Attach the durai at the center.
  • Glue single pearl applique in the center of each diamond pattern.
  • For the bun, wrap the plain fabric around a scrunchie and secure it in place.
  • Attach the pearl bun to the scrunchie’s potli.
  • Adjust the scrunchie to create a round shape and then stick the pearl bun to the side of the crown.
  • Finish it off by attaching a pretty tassel to the bun using hot glue.
