The one for the kids.
Our Janmashtami celebrations have slowly but truly become a community event. Every year we decorate the porch and open our home to all the kids in the neighborhood. It’s a time we spend with the children creating and hanging the decorations together, dressing up, and breaking the makeshift matkas. The smiles and laughter that fill our homes with the Krishna’s and Radha’s are priceless, and it warms our hearts to see the kids embrace our tradition.
This year, we kept it quite simple. A beautiful backdrop from Golden Backdrops, repurposed flower decorations, matkas made from paper lanterns. It came together quite quickly with all the tiny extra hands that came in to help.
