 Hello Guys! I am really glad I am finally able to make it to my first post. I am still getting a hang on my site design though. Well can’t wait anymore to talk about one of my recent DIY’s. I know there are a lot of blogs/posts online on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint projects, but I think every project is different in its own way. We recently bought a home and I in process of glamorizing up my home now. I am not a very huge spend thrift, I like to re-purpose old stuff and add some life to them. So here you see below the chest I bought from craigslist for my master bedroom. This is a nice sturdy and heavy Ethan Allen dresser I bought for 150$. 
STEP1: SAND
Annie Sloan paint does not usually needs sanding on your furniture, but my dresser had a very thick layer of varnish and I did not want my paint to chip off after I did it all, so I first sanded the piece with 80 grit sanding paper. If you don’t have the sanding machine, you can just use the sanding paper and rough sand the piece.  Once my sanding is done, we can start painting with the ASCP old white. The brush strokes does not have to be uniform, that brings some nice character to it.
STEP2: PAINT
Apply one coat and just wait for like 15 mins and you can apply the second coat. This is how it should look after two coats of old white chalk paint.
 STEP3: DISTRESS
Now comes the fun part of distressing the furniture. I have taken a sanding block and went through all the edges and corners of the piece to distress the dresser. Remember do not rough up the middle portions as it does not look natural. You can also follow the instructions on this link.
 STEP4: WAX
I did not like the look of the dark wax on my white dresser, so I wanted to just stick to clear wax. All you need to do is take a scoop of wax into a plate and apply a small quantity to the brush and blend it like you are applying make up on the plate. And then apply it on the furniture, This way you would not have blobs of wax on your piece of furniture.
 Your furniture piece should look something like this after the clear wax. Now its up-to you if you want the dark wax, even if you wish use very little amount( like just an oz) and mix it with a scoop of clear wax and try it on some corner before you do it on the whole piece. I did this and somehow just liked the look of just the clear wax alone.
 So I am almost done and I painted the handles with rust-oleum Iron paint to match the distressed look and fixed them to the dresser. You can get this is home depot for like 7$. So this is how the dresser looked after the Glam up 🙂
