Disguised Kalamkari wall mural

Feature walls 0 comments

A mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture. I really wanted to have a really nice kalamkari wall mural.

But I did not like the fact that the mural had to go on the wall permanently. What if we have to move out of the house 😜. I did not want to loose the beautiful painting that Krishi arts was doing for us🤗🥰.

So we did s disguised wall mural. Yes you heard me right!! So it looks like a painting donr on the wall but actually not on the wall.

Things you need for this project.

  • A huge projector screen- size of ur wall size.
  • Your wall paint color – mine was agreeable grey.
  • Sketching material.

Start with painting the projector scrern with the wall color. We did some nice 2 to 3 coats of agreeable grey on the screen.

Let the screen dry really well.

Now you can start painting. We just hung it to the wall using push pins.

Once the painting is done hang the painting to the wall using the smallest nails. And make sure you stretch it good enough and nail it on all sides to make sure it adheres well to the wall. And conceal the nails with the wall paint again.

Now once the whole painting is hung on the wall. Connect the missing painting parts on the wall. So you just paint a frw little connections on the wall.

Like if you see in the picture my tree ended on the screen and the continuation is painted on the wall.

In case you find any bumps, nail in between the sheet and conceal it with paint again.

Also make sure you cut the opening for any switches.

And you are done with disguised wall mural that you can remove it and move it to anywhere you go 🤗.
