Splurge or Save? Make the smart pick with the Desi DIY Marble pedestal without compromising on the appearance.
It definitely takes a lot of money to do a home makeover. But there are always ways to keep urself under the budget. Save somewhere and splurge somewhere to keep the balance. My client so wanted to get this heavy brass Nandi in her home and she knows this is going to be an expensive piece of artifact in her home. Now as a designer, I give her an option to save by doing this simple DIY which costed her fraction of the cost and have her spend on the piece she loves!!! Interior designing is not just about doing makeovers, its also about doing it under budget and not be able to compromise the look.
Materials Used:
- Plywood
- Black marble wallpaper
- Fabric glue spray
- Painters tape
- Hinges and screws
Steps for making marble pedestal:
Step 1:
Place the wooden panels aligned on the Painters tape that is spread horizontally in a way that the panels can be folded as a box case.
Step 2:
Glue the edges of the wooden panels together and fold them into a box case with the help of the tape that binds the alignment intact.
Step 3:
Affix the open edges of the box case by screwing the hinges from the inside of the case and close the top of the case by gluing the top panel.
Step 4:
Spray on the outside surface of the case with a Fabric glue spray and spread the Black marble wallpaper evenly on the sprayed surface and make sure to cut out the extra marble sheet that would stick out in the end for a neat finish.
