Bedroom renovation series – Part 2
This master bedroom renovation holds a special place in my heart. It serves as a reflection of what we are currently vibing with and is a zen-like space where we can retreat to at the end of a busy day and feel relaxed and calm.
The farmhouse-style decor that once adorned the room has been replaced by a minimalist, light, and serene juxtaposition of wall panels and wallpaper. A simple L-shaped panel was elevated with the addition of rounded edges that add an extra touch of panache to the space. With subtle backlighting, charming leather detailing, and a subline wallpaper, this room has been brought to life with love.

DIY instructions – Wall panel
- We used a table saw to create 1/4 × 3/4 × 72 trims, but you can buy the trims that I have linked in the material list and make small slits using a Japanese hand saw.
- Soak the trims in water for a couple of hours.
- Begin bending the trim slowly, starting from one side, to achieve a curved shape.
- Nail the trim to the edge of the plywood sheet from one side, continuing to bend the trim, and secure it with additional nails.
- Apply spackling to cover any small gaps.
This video shows how to achieve a perfect arch trim.
