Tranquil Master Retreat – Final Reveal!!

We lived in this outdated bedroom for about 6 yrs and one fine day i decided to rip the walls literally. Praneel was totally not on board but do you think he had a choice? So lets get this started!!

Moodboard

I have created a subtle wood toned moodboard for my bedroom. I wanted to create a bedroom that is a serene oasis, wrapped in warmth and coziness. A wood ceiling adds a natural touch, complemented by a plush, warm white bed that beckons relaxation. The wood and white background creates a calming atmosphere, accented by subtle tones of soft grays and tuapes. I wanted to bring in warm lighting that creates an inviting space as you walk in.

Project Ceiling

Have you ever had an idea that you couldn’t execute immediately but it stayed on the back of your mind? This was one of those ideas. Ever since we bought the house, I wanted to try an accent ceiling. We got tray ceiling done for our master bedroom with the thought I would add some accents. As they say, good things take their time, this one sure did – 6 years in ideation and about 2 weeks from start to finish, but it was totally and utterly worth the wait!

Now that the ceiling is taken care of, we redid the entire flooring. We ripped off the carpet and installed LVP flooring.

Arched wallpaper

This master bedroom renovation holds a special place in my heart. It serves as a reflection of what we are currently vibing with and is a zen-like space where we can retreat to at the end of a busy day and feel relaxed and calm.

The farmhouse-style decor that once adorned the room has been replaced by a minimalist, light, and serene juxtaposition of wall panels and wallpaper. A simple L-shaped panel was elevated with the addition of rounded edges that add an extra touch of panache to the space. With subtle backlighting, charming leather detailing, and a subline wallpaper, this room has been brought to life with love.

Makeup corner

My master bedroom is gradually coming together, and we’ve tackled the major elements like the ceiling and the accent wall. Today, I’m excited to share how we transformed a small corner into a makeup nook to dressup. Initially, we wanted to hang a mirror there, but we decided to get creative and turn it into something special by adding slats and a cleverly hacked Ikea drawer.

Small details can truly add character and bring joy to a space. By giving them a little love and attention, they can shine and make a significant impact.
